No doubt DINO MARSAN belong to that category of great artists of illustration, as Oliviero Berni, Karel Thole, Patrito Marco, Giuseppe Mangoni, Victor Togliani ... have-and some of them still give luster to-Italian publications of science fiction and fantasy, but it is equally true that his work in color is not the most unknown. In black and white, Dino Marsan, stands still, like-let me-the master of the dash and the half-tone as Festin, Serpieri, Bani, Finlay, Moebius, with which it shares both the ' modern afflatto the oldest to be found especially in the wise and patient, engravings of Gustave Dore.
