After centuries of colonialism and dictatorship, a part of the Arab world is looking up the road to freedom. The revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya born from below, without teachers, leaders, political parties, perhaps showing that Rosa Luxemburg was right, and of course Lenin was wrong. What is happening is an epochal event that someone has already called "The 1989 Arab, and Europe, instead of greeting him with enthusiasm, to be contained in its fears and its uncertainties. The only European Union's concern seems to be to limit the possible flows of migrants. On the other side of the Mediterranean millions of young people calling for democracy and freedom in the Old World, ruled by mummies, it is thought only to save the capital. He's going through a train load of hopes and dreams, and we could barely see it on television.
